Portside Tower has over 26 000m2 of glazed façade, the majority of which was formed from a flush-glazed, high performance unitised curtain wall system.

Over 95% of the façade can be disassembled and reused, which contributed to the building’s achievement of a 5 Star Green Star SA As-Built rating.

Extensive mock ups and assessments of full-scale mock-ups were carried out, including wind tunnel testing was carried out at CSIR facility in Pretoria to determine cladding pressures.
